This fictional account relates how the Romans unknowingly scattered its pieces across France. Over the centuries, apparitions of the Virgin Mary have occurred exactly at the places where the pieces were laid, tossed or buried. Thousands of believers and pilgrims have experienced miracles at these sites, and many unbelievers have been converted.
No one knows the significance of these pieces of stone. After centuries there is one piece still undiscovered. It is where the Virgin Mary has yet to visit.
This novella begins with a simple stonecutter named Lotha who witnesses Jesus carrying his cross on the way to his crucifixion, and tells the story of how Lotha goes to build his own church.
